FAQS

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup involves the application of pigment into the skin using a tattoo machine/ handpiece. Although the procedures use needles, these do not penetrate deep into the skin therefore the experience is more gentler to the skin. The pigments are implanted into the top layers of the skin to create natural enhancements and it is designed to fade over time.

What is the difference between Machine method and Microblading?

Machine method is used to create brows, eyeliner and lips. This method can create soft or defined looks and is suitable for all skin types.

Microblading doesn't use a machine, its a hand held pen with a fine needle in the end. This then etches fine hair like strokes into the top layers of the skin to create natural looking brows. Its not suitable for all skin types and its not recommended to have time and time again and is only carried out on eyebrows.

What will suit me?

Some clients have an idea of what look they would like to achieve. Don't worry if you don't as i will give my expert advice. Sometimes it can depend on what you naturally have, skin type, different face / eye shapes and so on. A pre treatment consultation will cover this.

How long does it last?

It really does vary from person to person as everyone's skin type is different. As a guide a colour boost is recommended every 1-3 years. However it could be in the skin for up to 5+ years depending how many times the area is done over time.

How will i look straight after my treatment?

Immediately after your treatment the colour always look darker and prominent. Depending on skin sensitivity, the area can look a little red, this subsides an hour or two after your treatment. The area can feel a little tender but nothing that will stop you going about your daily routine.

What is the aftercare?

Does it hurt?

All treatments are relatively pain free, topical anaesthetics are used throughout the procedure to keep pain at a minimum. Most clients compare the first part of the treatment to a tweezing, threading, scratchy sensation but once the anaesthetic gets to work clients are relaxed and often fall asleep.

Do you remove my natural brow hairs?

No, i don't remove them. I create the shape around your natural brow hairs as this will give the best results. However i will pluck away any strays ones that aren't needed.

Do i need a patch test?

Yes, a patch test will be sent out in the post prior to your appointment. Instructions will be in the pack to guide you through doing the test. Tests must be done no later than 24 hours before your appointment.

How long does the treatment take?

The initial treatment can take up to 3 hours and then the retouch can be anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on what needs to be done.

Do you work over old tattooing or work that's been carried out by another artist?

If you have had your brows, eyeliner or lips done with another artist then i would need to see whats left in the skin. A free consultation and some pictures would be needed to discuss further.

What is the long term care?

Using SPF on brows and lips when exposed to the sun helps to prevent pigment fade.

Your natural brow hairs will still grow the same so you can have a regular wax/ shape and a tint is also optional.

I recommend a colour boost anywhere between 1-3 years to refresh the colour and shape. So that the areas don't become over saturated with colour you want the colour to have faded a good 50-80%.

Do you offer any discounts on treatments?

Yes i do!

If you have two areas done on the same day you get £50 discount and if all three areas are done on the same day, eyebrows, eyeliner and lips you get £100 discount.
